Scissor care
A little care between cuts.
Clean for the task.
Remove loose fibers or paper dust after cutting. For food tools, follow the cleaning instructions supplied with the exact model. A dishwasher statement for one kitchen pair does not apply to every pair in the collection.
Dry before storage.
Pay attention to the pivot and the inside of the handles. Close the blades, fit the supplied cover where available and engage a storage lock if your model has one. Keep tools away from children when not supervised.
Keep purposes separate.
Reserve food scissors for food preparation and personal-care scissors for grooming. A dedicated fabric pair keeps packaging adhesive away from your sewing tools.
Know the mechanism.
Detach blades only when the model is designed to come apart. Reconnect them securely before use. Do not force a riveted pivot or alter a spring or lock.
When the cut changes.
Stop if the scissors are damaged, loose or hard to control. Ask a qualified sharpening service about the specific blade profile before sharpening: serrated, curved and coated blades can need different treatment.
